I really enjoyed reading your poem Alan. I have read several times to put an interpretation on this issue and I am not at all sure that mine will be the same as yours. For me, the imagery is a war zone after a missile or a bomb fell and the crowd dispersed to reveal a solo sailor arrived on the scene. Was I close??
