Negative Film

When did 35mm negative film manufacturers began to code their films and was the first?
Today, almost all negative have code printed on them to monitor for digital film scanners that are available for either consumer or professional use ….. use domestic or laboratory processing. When these figures are and what movie? what all movies do they?
Although the patent for coding DX was published in October 1994, the process is not readily available until 1995 and did not become popular in the laboratory until 1997 the cost to convert equipment and train staff took so long. Most high-volume laboratories were the first to convert because they had the most to gain recoup the cost.
