The Cure – Band Review
It feels like yesterday when I heard the music of The Cure for the first time. And even if it has been over twenty years I still remember with the same nostalgia and sentimentality. Perhaps because The Cure has produced a unique post-punk psychedelic euphoria and a reaction chain that incredibly rare shivered my spine. Perhaps because The Cure bridged the gap between punk and pop, they have managed their ways his sadness and anger, they have created their own style to create armies of fans and imitators worldwide. The Cure have built their myth selectively using ingredients of their work and their lives, and they became a real cure for the souls of millions of people who have cried, laughed, danced, and passed nights of endless reflection on the meaning of life and the dark side of things.
Robert Smith, himself a personality dark, melancholic, odd, strange, unstable, had all the virtues that a person should have in order to create artistically. His revelations and incredible special way of pronouncing soon idolized the eyes of fans of The Cure and has been the vehicle of his musical explorations and one of punk's most important position in history music. The Cure was an entire generation with their music, its vanguard, uniqueness and became an attitude of life of the young generation 80s.
In the early years, Smith's melancholy was reflected in his verses dark. It was the dominant figure of the group, composer and singer. The first award for the group was rewarded for Melody Maker in a contest for new bands. The Easy Cure received a new name and began their magical journey of absolute creation that has swept like a magnate psychedelic, pop, dark gothic, punk and rock sounds to convert the sound of The Cure. During this trip, the group has produced records that have shaken the world audience such as "Boys Do not Cry" "pornography", "Disintegration" and many others with songs that literally brought up and stigmatized generation 80s and 90s.
The success of the treatment is also attributed to the fact that the group is not a one-dimensional Goth-punk. The Cure is the post punk of "Three Imaginary Boys", the funk of "Hot Hot Hot" pop "Close To Me" and the overflowing love of "Just Like Heaven". Even in their darkest moments of "faith" or "disintegration", they are more influenced by French Existentialism ( "Killing an Arab "is based on" Stranger "by Albert Camus) by the German roots of the Bauhaus and The Sisters of Mercy, which seems to Berlin during the third Reich. The only group that could share the feeling of loneliness and isolation is Joy Division. Even after the suicide of Ian Curtis and the rebirth of the group as New Order, Joy Division, suffering from a one-dimensional style, where they can not escape, and they cover themselves with a new name, while the fathers of dance music. Instead, the Cure for the various styles of music and produce great songs.
Whatever how the music industry pours on the glamorous figure of Robert Smith, the dark side of the music is dark. Robert never wanted to see the side happy life, at least musically, its 25 years of being with The Cure is a vortex of melancholy and sadness, which captures the soul and makes us think, open our minds, see life from a different angle, the value of our time and priorities set. Lyrics Smith we practice the emptiness of bullshit fashion, but fortunately for us all. And He is the greatest contribution of the cure to society: they have created some great thinkers.
