Liverpool and the Beatles
The Beatles are known worldwide, for their music, their hordes of adoring fans, for works of art on their albums. Their work was put Liverpool on the musical map and now the city receives a large number of tourists seeking to retrace the steps of the Fab Four.
Until 1973 fans who often visit the original Cavern Club where the group was discovered – by manager Brian Epstein – but it was demolished to make way for the Merseyrail Underground. Knowing that the total removal of the building would destroy much of the story the city, the Council decided to simply rebuild the club with its original brick, which means fans can still gain experience that members of the audience shared that fateful night.
Beatlemania swept the region and now many businesses have sprung up around of the cave, all sales of merchandise and souvenirs of the Beatles limited edition.
As well as the place where the group was discovered there are many other places in the city that Beatles fans might want to visit, such as the church where John and Paul met, or some many places that are mentioned in the songs. If you see people climbing trees in the strawberry fields or in line to get their hair cut by Penny Lane you'll know why.
A recent addition to the visit was the childhood home of John – in Menlove Avenue – which was purchased by his widow Yoko Ono. It the house was renovated in the 1950s decor and after completion, she donated to the National Trust. The house is now open the public can browse around and see how John has probably grown.
Many circuits have been implemented to keep fans of the main attraction points and they can ensure you get to see much, if not all, of remarkable. These visits may be on foot or by bus and starts various locations throughout the city, often pick up people staying at hotels in Liverpool And if necessary you may be able to get involved in a number of these shipments.
If you are traveling in a group of fanatics and interference with other sites to see before moving at the pace set by another person does sound ideal for you, there are vendors who sell maps detailing the many key locations, which means that you can travel to find the best area.
A visit to Liverpool is not complete without seeing an act paying tribute to the Beatles and if this is the Cavern Club or the brand new Echo Arena – with a capacity of 11,000 – will depend on the popularity of the band.
